How can we change our country?

We today face an unprecedented set of problems relating to the World. There are a lot of people unsatisfied with the world so what can we do to change it? One basic thing we could do is help communities realize individualized solutions to their problems. We are stranded upon Environmental and Ecological problems, Corrupt Government, and Social problems. But there exists a lasting solution to these issues that we face.
The first issue I would like to discuss is Environmental and Ecological problems of the World. Which includes issues relating to ecological destruction, resource depletion, atmospheric change, disasters and global warming. There are many ways we can prevent environmental problems, especially Global Warming. Common and simple ways we can help save our environment. We can stop burning wastes especially non-biodegradables, Protest against big industries producing too much carbon into the atmosphere, Support our leaders in their struggle to implement rules regarding the protection of our environment. As individuals, the only thing we can help prevent environmental problems is to keep our environment clean. The best way to stop resource depletion is through conservation. It is an intelligent choice that we should join in, in order to save the resources for future and to our own usage. It’s possible if we start using them carefully and also recycle and reuse. We should create ways to reduce people's vulnerability to emergencies by helping them prepare to respond and to build their resiliency. When disaster strikes around the world, we should respond quickly with life-saving assistance. We should work to rebuild lives and reduce the risk of future disasters.
My second choice would be the topic of An Corrupt Government. Government is no longer based on the walls of the Constitution. The Government roams where it wants, throughout every walk of life and throughout every department of business. From workers to wages to materials to products, the government is everywhere. But we no longer have a government of laws. Governmental corruption is a necessary consequence of the unreasonable, unconstitutional, and scandalous concentration of power. Unless this scandalous concentration of power is dissolved, corruption will not only continue, it will grow worse, regardless of the political complexion or personal honesty of the president of the United States. We can fix this issue by simplify and strengthen the existing rules and regulations; require greater disclosure of individuals leaving the government to work for industries they had previously overseen; and conduct a review of the benefits, incentives, and rewards for staying in the public sector versus performing the same work as a government contractor. We need better candidates on our government not because of their popularity but because of their honesty, their braveness for their country because of their fairness and most of all because of their love for their humankind.
My last and final issue would be Social problems. Immigration, drug use, cost of living (poverty), healthcare, and unemployment are all of some of the social issues we face. Many immigrants are coming over taking over jobs for less pay causing unemployment for the citizens. Drug use is killing more and more people. The cost of living is high causing poverty. The healthcare system is so bad. In order to fix there problems we would have to look at ourselves and ask are we apart of any of these problems. We should open up more jobs for the community and provide free clinics and free healthcare. But the very important step is to create a positive government to help their people in their times of need. We could build more teen activities building to help keep kids off the street.
I think maybe with all theses issues addressed we could have a better future with the world we live on. The world wouldn’t be perfect just a better place. These problems can be addressed but only if someone took acting, stood up for the world. Making the country will give the people a better aspect on life. It will make them want to do right to be somebody. I think this is an important step in our economy.

Blog 11: Global Warming

Global warming is when the earth heats up (the temperature rises).  It happens when greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, water vapor, nitrous oxide, and methane) trap heat and light from the sun in the earth’s atmosphere, which increases the temperature.  This hurts many people, animals, and plants. Many things cause global warming.  One thing that causes global warming is electrical pollution.  Electricity causes pollution in many ways, some worse than others. Fossil fuels are burned to create electricity.  Fossil fuels are made of dead plants and animals.
We use these sources of energy much more than the sources that give off less pollution.  Global warming is doing many things to people as well as animals and plants.  It is killing algae, but it is also destroying many huge forests.  The pollution that causes global warming is linked to acid rain.  Acid rain gradually destroys almost everything it touches.  Global warming is also causing many more fires that wipe out whole forests.  This happens because global warming can make the earth very hot.  In forests, some plants and trees leaves can be so dry that they catch on fire. I do believe in Global warming and it is dangerous. When people go outside they become sick with all the pollution in the air. The government is doing many things to help stop global warming. The government made a law called The Clean Air Act so there is less air pollution.  Global warming is making people get very bad illnesses that could make them disabled, very sick, and sometimes even die.  The Clean Air Act is making many companies change their products to decrease these problems. Part of the law says that you may not put a certain amount of pollutants in the air.  Hairspray and some other products, like foam cups, had this problem.  Making and using these products let out too much volatile organic compounds (VOC’s), ozone-destroying chemicals (chlorofluorocarbons (CFC’s), and related chemicals (such as CO2) into the air.  Now, almost all of these products have a label on them telling people what this product can do to the environment and many people.

Blog 13: Current Event (Bullet 'hit White House window')

The bullets were discovered  on Tuesday. After there were reports of gunfire between the White House and the Washington Monument at about 21:30 local time on Friday evening. The bullet casings were found on the grounds after gunshots were fired nearby late last week. The Secret Service is looking into whether the bullet fired into a window at the White House is connected to a shooting nearby last Friday. Last Friday night at about 9 p.m., U.S. Park Police and the Secret Service investigated after hearing shots fired about 700 to 800 yards from the White House. Witnesses heard shots and saw two speeding vehicles in the area. An AK-47 rifle was also found. "As the investigation continued, the US Park Police located a vehicle in the 2300 block of Constitution Avenue, about seven blocks away from the White House. Evidence in the vehicle led to the secret service to receiving an arrest warrant for Oscar Ortega. A weapon registered to Ortega was found in the car. The US Parks Police now says they are looking for a  Oscar Ramiro Ortega in connection to the shooting. The Bullets didn't hurt anyone in the white house it just hit a protective window.Mr Ortega is described as a white Hispanic male of medium build, with several distinguishing tattoos - including three dots on his right hand, his name across his back and the word Israel tattooed on his neck.Authorities are searching for Ortega, with the FBI, ATF and Metropolitan Police Department all participating.
I think that so many people are fed up with how the government is not helping out, they are trying to take out the president and they don't understand the whole process with getting certain bills passed and getting the economy right. But still It also might be because of racial issues. The reason for this is not explain no one knows why Ortega might have shot at the white house. But still with him leaving his car and the weapon inside??? It don't really make sense to me because they said they heard wheel speeding away from the scene. This world is crazy.

Blog 12: The Keystone Pipeline

The Keystone pipeline would run from Alberta, Canada to Houston, Texas, where it would be turned into gasoline and material for other petroleum-based products. It is suppose to run through farmland in Nebraska. The pipeline would provide the United states with the chance to receive safe, reliable, and affordable energy from canada. It would reduce the need to import energy from other countries. It will run through Montana, south Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas Oklahoma and Texas. Many people support it because it will create jobs, improve the energy security, and there will be additional tax revenue. But also many people are against it because it can damage the air, there are oil spill threats, it will destroy habitats and create environmental destruction and in Nebraska many ranchers and farmers oppose its construction. Many environmentalists are also concerned about the situation. One of the largest aquifers in the world, the Ogallala is beneath the Sand Hills of Nebraska. It provides the water for about 30% of all the irrigated cropland in the United States. People who run those farms around here are concerned that a pipeline accident might damage that resource. The Pipeline would deliver Canadian crude oil to Oklahoma and Texas refineries increasing economic growth all along the way, creating tens of thousands of jobs, and much needed oil. The pipeline can serve as a climate threat. President Obama said the State Department will “be giving me a report over the next several months and, you know, my general attitude is: What is best for the American people? What’s best for our economy both short term and long term? But also: What’s best for the health of the American people?” I don’t really know what to say about this I agree but then I don’t agree on some affect that it will have on the environment and the people that it will affect!

Blog 10: Wall Street Protest

On September 17, a group of individuals representing all ages, races,  backgrounds protested against wall street in New York City. The wanted to ‘move in’ and Occupy Wall Street, by flooding lower Manhattan with peaceful protesters, setting up beds, kitchens and peaceful demonstration outposts. They want to show that 'We the 99% are fed up with the greed and corruption of the 1%.They want the  "New World Order", corporations ruling and influencing government and the economy, bail outs and tax breaks for the 1%, ruinous government policy, and the corruption and unconstitutional fraud of the Federal Reserve.
They are using non-violent demonstration. They wan to restore restore a balance of real democracy in this nation. Several Celebrities/artists have approached the protest. Immortal Technique spoke out against US government money borrowing policies, stating: "The majority of the population are getting nothing from those loans".He said that the revenue from the loans was being invested in 'foreign firms,' in countries where labor is cheaper. He also talked about the potential for democratically elected officials to become corrupted and influenced by wealthy lobbyists. "Once they get involved in politics, they come to rely on political contributions... you know that not everyone is going to vote, so you concentrate on fulfilling the needs of special interests." These would constitute guaranteed voters in favour of the politician's party.George Soros is said to be behind the protest.

My reaction to this is that I think it is a good thing. I think its the next step. They shouldn't be able to screw us over like they are. The economy would be better if they straighten up. They need to change some things up. I agree with the protest long it isn't violent and long as no one gets hurt. I think it should be the people decision on how to financially use the money. The banks need to held accountable for their actions. They nearly destroyed our economy. The rich have been getting richer on the backs of the poor and the middle class for too long.Corporations have been abusing the political system for far too long. Free markets do not mean corporate monopolies that control the electoral system. We need to give the power back to the people.THere were a lot more people there than it sounded like from the earlier reports. I Saw of few shots of people just standing there getting pepper spray directly in the face. There are a lot of people in this country that are afraid to see progress. I hope it causes some major changes because we need them, and its clear our government is entirely incapable of doing anything to improve our economy.

Blog 8: Sicko (Sick in America)

After I saw this it actually made me mad. I got a kid and he goes to the doctor a lot he had insurance but I also have to pay deductibles and co pays on his medicine and thing while in other countries EVERYTHING IS FREE rides to hospital, doctors, a year off of work/school after having a baby compared to the 3 weeks that I got after having my son, and you get your money reimbursed. Maybe if the Government wouldn't make up pay for every single little thing then maybe the U.S. wouldn't be in such an economic crisis.Everyone is suppose to be entitled to "good welfare" but yet there are a lot of people out suffering and dying because they don't have health insurance and can't receive treatment. Our world id trapped in capitalism. We need to switch some things up!

Blog 7: Higher Education (College Inc.)

College Inc. was basically about students going to college (non-profit)  and getting cheated out a lot of money and getting put in serious debt. Most times all the money and times put into the colleges was worth it. When they graduated they still could find job, some graduated with out the proper training in their degrees and were told their degrees wasn't worth anything. In my opinion if college is going to put me in a lot of debt then i won't be going, why go to school to be put in debt and not get the proper truing for your degree that is worthless?? I don't think college is for everyone if you don't think you will finish college when you go then don't go because all  you are going to be left with is a lot of debt. A benefit for going to a proper college that actually gives you the right training would be a higher paying job. On drawback would be going into debt. They says they want people to "pursue their dreams/careers" but thats just a line to scam them out of their money.
